About the Item
An impressive 16 x 28 mm semi-cushion shaped Brazilian green tourmaline rests within a signature medieval-inspired "4 post with jawan" 18K gold granulated setting atop a comfortable and wide matte-finish sterling band. The lively verdant green stone is a beautiful contrast to the rich gold of the bezel and surrounding hand-set granulation, which extends slightly up near the points as well as down on the shank near the stone. This is substantial piece, currently sized 8. It is resizable within a few sizes. Many large green tourmalines are dark and dull, but not this one. This stone has a lot of life and internal reflections. You will not be disappointed!

After a chance trip to SouthEast Asia in 1987, Steven Battelle became fascinated with the jewelry and iconology from the ancient cultures of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, and Asia. Eventually forming a partnership with a dedicated group of Balinese village goldsmiths using painstaking handmade techniques, they together create unique designs that incorporate those timeless and classic motifs. He incorporates primarily cabochon gemstones as well as ancient Greek and Roman coins, each piece capturing the feelings of a bygone age.
