About the Item

An ancient Roman gold ring, dating from the 3rd century, in excellent condition. The ring has a pretty side arabescating decoration that embellishes the frame in which is embedded a coevo garnet. In ancient Rome, the garnet was an extremely used stone because it was considered as a powerful talisman able to instill courage and vitality. It was also believed that the garnet was able to protect against poisons and diseases, which is why it was widely used by powerful and prominent figures, even in later centuries.
