Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Bullet Cabochon Toi et Moi Ring in 18 Karat Gold

About the Item

This ring spent most of its career as an excruciatingly boring pearl bypass ring. We breathed new life into it by replacing the pearls with two gorgeous, chewy little bullet cabochons of turquoise from the famed Sleeping Beauty mine in Globe, Arizona. The stones represent some of the last remaining pieces from a large chunk of rough turquoise we purchased from the mine several years before it temporarily closed in 2012.* We had these cabochons cut specifically for this ring, and it has the matrix-free, intense color that sets this turquoise variety apart from all other American varieties. The 7mm stones are prong-set and weigh 1.75 carats each. The ring face is about 13mm tall. The band is 1.5mm thick and 2.2mm wide in the back. The ring weighs 8 grams. Currently, this ring is size 9.5. Resizing is complimentary within a range of 8 to 10.5. If you would like a size outside this range, nothing's impossible (until The Boss says it is), so let us know what you need and we'll see what's what. The inside of the band is stamped "18K" and "HANDMADE" plus the maker's mark, but we can't quite make it out ("PJ?"). The condition is excellent: the mounting was thoroughly cleaned and polished prior to resetting the stones, and polished again afterwards. *The mine has reopened but supplies of matrix-free stone are dwindling and authentic, untreated stones remain expensive and hard-to-find.
