Saxon Ornate Gold Ring, circa 7th-9th Century AD
About the Item
Saxon ornate gold ring. Set to centre with a circular disk featuring an open cruciform, decorative granulation and raised borders with ribbed detailing, the trumpeting shoulders are trimmed with raised ribbed borders and further granules which lead down to a solid shank. Tested gold, approximately 7.68 grams in weight, circa 7th-9th century AD,accompanied by an Oxford Labs X-ray fluorescence report stating the composition of the metal.
