About the Item

This Ring was made in Sweden in ca. second part of the 19th century. Band in solid 18K Yellow Gold, crown with a layer of Black Enamel surrounding three prong set rose cut Diamonds. The largest Diamond is 4.6 mm x 3.2mm / ca. 0.5 ct. Other Two: 2.5mm x 2.5mm & 2.5mm x 3mm / ca.0.25ct each. Total weight about 1ctw. All stones with closed backs and foiled under. This ring was made in Stockholm, hallmarked 18K and the maker's, year marks are not visible / worn or removed. Such design was very popular in 19th century and I already sold several similar items, all made between the 1820s - 1900s.Check a similar ring in my inventory for comparison: Antique Ring 0.5ct Diamond Green Enamel solid 18K Gold Silver Ø 5.75 US /3.1 gr Size: Ø US 5 /15.7 mm. Weight: 3 grams. Used condition, wear to enamel. Great Ring for everyday wear. Question: can Enamel be repaired? Yes, for true hot repair stones should be removed but setting them back can be problematic. To make simple cosmetic repairs one can use two components epoxy glue, black or transparent with black pigment added - like wood coal or conventional black-colored epoxy additive. Later careful gentle polishing will make this ring look fine again. > Most of the items that we sell are not new at all if not stated otherwise. Stones with closed backs may seem darker than stones with open backs. Such nuances of color perception do not give any excuse to claim item to be not as described. Unfortunately Internet sales do not allow us to see the items in person before we get them by post. We will not be responsible if in the process of resizing or customization any stone on the ring becomes loose, if any deformation occurs in general or if band of the ring changes shape or becomes deformed. It is often difficult or impossible to get an accurate characteristics of the weight , color and nature of inclusions without removing the stones from the settings to be weighed and examined and doing that may damage the piece.
