There are lots of coffee tables in this world. But once in a blue moon you come across a TREASURE of a coffee table like this one!!! This piece is attributed to the original Chin Hua Collection designed by Raymond K. Sobota for Century Furniture in 1975. The entire collection was retired in1998 after a 23-year successful run. So successful that Century Furniture reissued the collection in 2012. And it is no wonder they revived it. The Chin Hua Collection was one of Century’s most revered collections of all time. And although not marked, this incredible piece bears a striking resemblance to his masterpieces and the paper label on its underside, although hard to read, bears a strong resemblance to the Century Furniture labels. Playing with Ming Style and a bit of Chinoiserie flair this piece has been designed oh-so-handsomely. It is comprised of a sultry black or ebony square wood frame and Ming style legs with a beautiful burl wood inset top. It’s simple and stunning and will add an exquisite presence to your living or family room and will harmonize with or accent many other design styles from mid-century modern to industrial and more.
Raymond Karl Sobota (1914-2010) is an award-winning American furniture designer. He attended and obtained his degree in design from Kendall College of Art and Design in his native home of Grand Rapids, Michigan. After graduating in 1946 Sobota apprenticed with his namesake and uncle, a furniture designer as well, Karl Schmidt, who designed for Berkey and Gay Furniture Company. He apprenticed for seven years leading to his designing for Grand Rapids Bookcase and Chair Co., the Mt. Airy Furniture Co., Hekman Furniture and finally Century Furniture for whom he designed from 1952 until 1995. He designed all the company’s wood furniture during that time totally, over 150 collections. The most notable being Citation, Chin Hua, Claridge, and the Henry Ford Museum and the British National Trust collections...

This is a stunning vintage coffee table comprised of a solid teak frame with a teak veneered extending top attributed to Remploy. This fabulous expansion design consists of inner grooves and the two top halves have pins that stick in those grooves and slide up and apart to expand the tabletop AND reveal a gorgeous square Formica lined square surface adorned with little gold leaves! Remploy is an organization in the United Kingdom which provides employment placement services for disabled people. Historically, it also directly employed disabled people in a number of factories owned by Remploy itself and subsidized by the UK government however, these were phased out at the start of the 21st century. It opened its first factory in 1946 and over the following decades it established a network of 83 factories across the UK making a variety of products. Remploy underwent a major change to its operation at the start of the 21st century and branched out into providing general employment assistance for disabled people, and others with barriers to employment. After the closure of most Remploy factories, the provision of these assistance services became Remploy's principal purpose. In March 2015, it was confirmed that Remploy would become owned by US service provider Maximus. Transfer of ownership was completed in April 2015.

Fantastic and Ficks Reed!!! This is a gorgeous large square coffee table by John Wisner for Ficks Reed. It is comprised of a stout rattan base, and it features a wonderful white tile top including four tiles with black painted Asian designs of fans and symbols… it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! This coffee table is from Ficks Reed’s Far Horizons collection by John Wisner which was introduced in 1954. Robert Marcius was born in Greenville, Mississippi and he began designing and producing sculptures, jewelry, and objects d’art when he moved to New Hope, Pennsylvania in 1972. He formed a partnership with Gene Jonson, and they formed “Jonson and Marcius” and moved their business to Manhattan. During this time, he supplied Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel, and Bloomingdale's with jewelry and Karl Springer with accessories, furniture, and sculptures. After seeking out Jonson and Marcius in 1975, Lorin Marsh launched their business of an original and unique line of furniture and accessories. Cartier and Tiffany also featured items manufactured by Jonson and Marcius. During the 1980’s Marcius sold his partnership and moved his operations to North Carolina where he designed the product and direction for Casa Bique Ltd. until the early 90’s. For 4 decades he has developed and designed for such clients as Frederick Ramond, Garcia Imports, Casa Stradivari, Thomasville, Lane, Kinder- Harris, The Platt Collections, and many others. Handsome fireplace fender style brass plated aluminum, glass, and wood large square coffee table attributed to Erwin Lambeth. It is in fabulous vintage condition. There are a few small scratches on the brass plating and a few nicks in the wood frame as you would expect with its age. But it has a brand-new piece of glass. Please see photos, circa 1960s-1970s.
We are in love with this gorgeous coffee table! This is the second time we have run across one of these and the moment I saw it I knew we needed another to be able to offer it to you. Although unmarked, we have been able through online research to be very sure of its Erwin Lambeth attribution. It is comprised of a square brass-plated aluminum base which looks like a fireplace fender with aluminum spindles and turned knob detail. It is mounted on a plinth base and is topped by a thick wood edged frame with a glass insert. Outstanding! It is the perfect center of attention as a coffee table should be. Large enough to display an interesting centerpiece or object d’art, along with coffee table books galore, and still room for setting a cocktail or cup of coffee. It will work beautifully with a Hollywood Regency, Campaign, or Traditionally designed space. As well as in a formal living room or a more casual family room.

Gorgeous Art Deco Revival tessellated marble with brass inlay accent strips, low console table and mirror, or it could be a coffee table and separate mirror, in the style of Maitland Smith. Excellent vintage condition. There is a tiny chip on the underside of one foot that has been repaired. There are several repairs to the marble that was done nicely and looks like age-appropriate patina. These are vintage, not new, so will have signs of use. Please see photos. Circa 1980-1990’s.
Dramatic, bold, unique, and extraordinary…just a few words we can think of to describe this impressive set of bench/table and mirror. Their style is a gorgeous art deco revival but can have a little Hollywood Regency flair. They are comprised of tessellated marble in a creamy off-white with jet black detail. The highlights of this table or bench are its incredible scrolled legs, which are reminiscent of an Ionic Roman column, and the marble tessellation in the shape of banana palm fronds. It is nothing short of spectacular. And then you are presented with its matching incredible wall mirror which is framed by the same creamy off-white and black tessellated marble banana palm fronds that surrounding the mirror glass…. GORGEOUS!!!!! Making the pair simply breathtaking! Although unmarked, this set is like designs by Maitland Smith or Oggetti Designs; however, our research has not revealed the exact piece, but it is made with the same high quality and attention to detail. Plus, its versatility is awesome. There are so many ways to utilize this amazing set…you could use it as a low table and dress it with a large floral arrangement maybe a sculpture or it would be a fabulous bench with a couple of throw pillows against a wall, and the mirror hanging above. Of course, they do not have to stay together. Split them up and use the table/bench as your coffee table then hang the mirror in the hall. This pair is also perfect for a fitting room in a boutique or a dressing bench...

1970’s Modern Pair End Tables by Kroehler Square Tops & Bentwood Double U Bases

Fabulous vintage Modern end tables by Kroehler comprised of walnut toned square tops and bentwood curved double U-shaped bases, a pair. This pair is identified by markings & stamps on the underside plus archived research including online sources, vintage documentation and catalogs, designer literature, and other materials. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, the refinished top of one table still has a few age-related scratches & dark rings that were too deep to sand completely out or we would have sanded through veneer. We have not seen any outstanding flaws in the second table. Both have been given a polyurethane finish. Please see photos and zoom in for details as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1970’s.

These end tables are to DIE for!!!!! This is a GORGEOUS pair of vintage Modern end tables by Kroehler comprised of a walnut toned square tops and bentwood curved double U-shaped bases. Just take another look at this PHENOMENAL wood grain and contrasting tones! The edges are slightly darker and run horizontally while the center runs vertically and has a slightly lighter tone, and they bear a lovely urethane finish. It’s a simple but very STRIKING detail!! The bases are stamped 1773-90 MOZAM, which we think could be the type of wood but after extensive research there were just too many contrasting opinions and information to confidently conclude a positive identification on the wood… either way, they are MARVELOUS!! They have solid construction, clean lines, and curves in all the right places completing a picture of tastefully restrained elegance in Modern style fabulous-ness. They NEED to be in your living or family room on each side or your sofa hosting a gorgeous pair of lamps...
