The influences for McGee's own artwork came from the style of Pop Art legend, Roy Lichtenstein. According to McGee, "Lichtenstein with a Red Bow was the first piece that started me down this rabbit hole. Roy Lichtenstein took comic strips and repositioned them as lithography. In an almost tongue-in-cheek fashion I wondered how I could take one of his pieces and recreate it in another medium. The easy answer for me was wood. I grew up working with it and, combined with my graphic design background, it left me with a new medium and expression that I think really works." From that start, Houston artist, McGee began to create his own style and establish his unique voice.
Today, his creativity exists in that space between painting and sculpture. In his Birch series, McGee uses pieces of wood, each illustrated, hand cut and stained or painted to create dimensional pieces. Each painting is filled with thick layers and subtle shadows. There is a warmth created by the imperfection of the birch and its grain that creates an emotional connection. Each painting is a labor of love, taking 40 to 50 hours or more to complete.
McGee has created original works inspired by Superhero comics, Sports icons, as well as romantic moments using thick lines and bold colors to bring these scenes to life in his own way. Each artwork is filled with humor, irony, compassion or seduction.

This is the complete Portfolio with 20 original limited edition, hand signed and numbered from the limited edition of only 100 - graphics by 20 Russian artists, including screen printing and collotypes. This portfolio was the mastermind of legendary printer and publisher Michael Domberger, who crisscrossed the globe from Rome, Sydney, Amsterdam, New York, Cologne and Moscow to realize this ambitious project - technically and artistically. Domberger writes that to his great surprise and delight -all of the artists invited agreed to participate. The 20 Russian artists invited to contribute works to this portfolio are: Jurij Albert, Grisha Bruskin, Erik Bulatov, Andrey Filippov, Sven Gundlach, Vladimir Yankilevsky, Ilya Kabakov, Igor Kopystyansky, Svetlana Kopystyanskaya, Georgiy Litvsky, Sergei Mironenko, Vladimir Mironenko, Boris Orlov, Dmitry Prigov, Andrei Roiter, Jurij Sobolev, Ivan Chujkov, Sergei Wolkov, Wadim Zakharov and Constantine Zwesdotschotov.

Artist Biography -
Kevans’ paintings reflect her interests in power, manipulation and the role of the individual in inherited belief systems. She looks at alternative histories and how they relate to current issues and creates what she describes as ‘anti-portraits’ that may or may not be based on real documentation. She believes that, as her work is concept driven, sometimes the actual similarity to the person depicted in the work is irrelevant. This can be seen in her 'Boys' series which is not about portraying dictators as they really looked as children but rather about the notion of the ‘innocent child’ which has influenced images of children in art...
