Bachelor Pad by Studio Hus in New York, NY

A penthouse duplex in Greenwich Village, New York was ours to transform into a single gentlemans home. The client, who in his off time wins golden trophies racing moto GP, wanted a space that was masculine and possessed a richness, warmth and character but didn’t fall into the usual ‘bachelor pad’ trappings. I kept the palette tonal and said if you wouldn’t wear it we wouldn’t use it. With that rule we layered rich walnuts, brown and black lamb leathers, aged brass, grays and camel tones creating.

One of my favorite features were the cognac leather floors we installed In the master suite which will only get more beautiful with time as they patina. In the suite we also papered the walls in a weathered grey wool and custom designed the walnut, leather and brass wardrobe and dresser after a favorite english tailor which expertly stored and displayed the gentleman wardrobe. .
