Landmarked Victorian

Family Home by JAM in Brooklyn, NY

JAM’s renovation of this 1907 Victorian manse in Ditmas Park was executed in a way that sympathetically preserved the home’s original spirit, both architecturally and design-wise. The original 4,300 sq ft layout – left unaltered in previous refurbishments – boasted 7 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, although it did not have a master suite. JAM opted to make better use of the generous amount of space, and with minimal modifications to the floorplan converted two of the bedrooms into a master bath and walk-in closet to create a spacious primary suite. Adjustments were additionally made in the other bedrooms to maximize storage space and create a more functional flow for modern life.
