Although the building had recently been renovated, the finishes were still not to my client’s taste so we made extensive changes.
We gutted the bathrooms, replacing the ‘80s mall’ vibe with a more modern selection of vanities and tiles. We switched out the marble floors with a porcelain that resembles cement, and swapped out the marble walls with subway tiles separated by a dark grout.
At 850 square feet, the living room was overwhelmingly large and we wanted to cozy it up. We achieved this by installing white brick tiles along the back wall and building a ventless fireplace to ground the seating area. We also added wall molding throughout the apartment to give it more character. Last, but not least, we brightened up the space by building in recessed lighting.
