Family Home by Kay Kollar Design in Los Angeles, CA
Designed for a fashion industry couple, I think of this house as an urban villa in midst of Cheviot Hills, a neighborhood on the westside of Los Angeles. Dramatic proportions and the assertive use of materials: glass, steel, terrazzo, reclaimed oak - define its architecture. The interior design has been a unique, evolving assemblage: modern and vintage furniture, rich in color and detail; site specific V’Soske rugs; vivid wall colors expressed thru polished plaster wallpapers; collected art created by California artists.
