Caricature by George Wachsteter (1911-2004) for the Oct 2, 1957 telecast of `The Barefoot Soldier` starring Sal Mineo as an escaped Confederate POW who seek refuge and falls in love with a Yankee woman, as presented for the season premiere of NBC-TV`s prestigious anthology series, `Kraft Television Theatre` (1947-58). The song `The Words That I Whisper`, which Mineo performed in the episode, reached #45 on the `Billboard` charts. On 15" x 20" illustration board, for the New York American-Journal. 11 1/2" x 9 3/4" image. Minor edge soiling, drawing is fine, white corrections by GW.
