Wonderful and historically interesting scene of a steam ship off the coast of Sandy Hook, New YorkCity before its voyage to Brazil. Part of a collection of pencil drawings , all unsigned of marine scenes dating from 1868. It seems the artist drew a number of scenes on his or her way to Brazil and whilst off the coast of Brazil via Barbados, all quite rare scenes for this period.
