Beautiful original watercolor by Jessie Harris Bone Charman. Signed lower right. Circa 1940. Condition is very good. Under glass. Beautifully matted and framed. Overall framed measurements are 20 by 18 inches. Provenance: East Hampton, New York estate. To clarify, the artist signed her watercolors with three different signatures. The first “Jessie Charman”, the second “Jessie Harris Charman” and lastly and most frequently, she signed “Jessie Bone Charman”.. Jessie Harris Bone Charman (1895-1986) was an American artist who lived in upstate New York. She was best known for beautiful still-lifes, landscapes and abstract watercolor paintings. Charman was married to Frederick Montague Charman who was a design professor at Syracuse University and also an artist.
