About the Item
Contemporary collage by Cindy Zaglin.
Zaglin has been creating art since early childhood. Her current work has evolved from a representational depiction of subject matter, to an exploration of color and space and how that creates an emotion. Her goal is not to reproduce an exact likeness of her subjects. The artist uses clean, vivid colors, with a palette knife or brush to engage the viewer and move the eye around the canvas. Her work is less concerned with being able to identify the subject matter and more concerned with using color, light and positive/negative space to connect with her subject and hopefully stir something in the viewer.
Zaglin hopes that whoever is looking at her work is carried along on the same wave of emotion that initially drove her to create the piece.

Shtern utilizes common household materials such as produce netting and colored cardboards in her up-cycled process to authenticate her message.
