Eva Bouzard-Hui (American, 1936-2023) Two Mixed Media Abstract Compositions on Handmade Paper, comprising: "Crow and the Mountain", with descriptive label to verso, and "Untitled", both signed lower right, black metal frames. Larger; image: 12" H x 9.5" W; frame 14.25" H x 11" W. Provenance: Eva Bouzard-Hui artist estate. Note: Eva Bouzard-Hui (American, 1936-2023) artist, teacher, and philanthropist earned a degree in Art Education from University of South Carolina and a Master’s degree from Columbia University in 1961. The award-winning artist taught art for decades in the United States and China; after retirement, she also taught art to inmates in New Jersey.

Eva Bouzard-Hui was a distinguished artist and visionary educator, who forged a legacy that spanned continents and transformed lives. Earning a Master's degree from Columbia University in 1961, her award-winning artistry was matched only by her unwavering commitment to teaching. Married to ceramicist Ka Kwong Hui for decades, she imparted her expertise not only across the United States but also received a grant from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation to study in China, fostering cross-cultural artistic exchange. In her retirement, she extended her dedication to underserved communities, providing transformative art instruction to inmates at the East Jersey State Prison, demonstrating the profound power of art as a tool for rehabilitation and personal growth.
