Stark Canyon - Modern Original Colorful Abstract Landscape Painting
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Jodi Fuchs creates modern abstract expressionistic artworks with undeniable energy. Years of inquiry into the metaphysical aspects of life have influenced her studio practice. This is where the act of creation is the muse. By following intuitive impulses, Fuchs' work speaks to the chaos and stillness (and the reconciliation of these two forces) inherent in the human experience. This original 24-inch high by 36-inch wide artwork is an acrylic composition on canvas. It is Fuchs’ fascination with the pure creative force: understanding it, harnessing it and expressing it, that fuels her painting process. This painting is signed on the back. The sides of this artwork are painted and it does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U. S. and worldwide shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Born in New York in 1964, Jodi Fuchs is an award-winning contemporary abstract painter living in Los Angeles. Her education about color and pattern came on the job while working as a decorative painter for 20+ years. One hundred thousand wine labels by Georges Duboeuf have been adorned with her art. Fuchs' work has been featured on 50+ TV and film productions, graced the lobbies of hotels from New York to Miami to Portland Oregon, and has been exhibited and collected worldwide. Located in Deddington, GB
Artwork by expressionist artist Haz Chomley is available online and in our gallery at Wychwood Art. Haz is a London-based expressionist artist who plays with bold colours and texture to create her abstract pieces. After studying Fashion Design and learning print-making, colour theory, illustration, life drawing, garment construction and so much more, Haz continued to explore the way shapes and colour interact and began creating and selling her artworks. Haz is a self-taught artist with two distinct styles which have been crafted over years of dedication to her practice. The act of painting is extremely meditative and allows a heightened state of presence and flow in which she finds extremely calming and serene. Her pieces are made with surroundings in mind, she is always thinking about how art relates to space and how the feelings it evokes in those environments. Date Night...

My Self
Located in West Hollywood, CA
We are proud to have discovered and now present a rare original self portrait by Austrian Expressionist artist, Franz Bergmann (1998-1977) "My Self", is an original oil on canvas, signed, c.1938, with an image dimension of 29 x 24 inches. The painting is in good original condition, the frame has been restored. A biography on the artist appears below, please contact the gallery with any question. Franz Bergmann 1898 - 1977 Franz Walter Bergmann was born on August 6, 1898, in Dimling, Austria, a town northwest of Vienna. His parents were both involved in the arts: his mother was a pianist, and his father was an amateur artist and a violinist. After serving in World War I for three years, he enrolled in the National Academy of Art in Vienna and embarked on a seven-year course of study, focusing on figure painting and portraiture. Although schooled in the academic tradition, Bergmann also adopted elements derived from the more avant-garde German Expressionist style. By 1924 he was exhibiting in Vienna and Stockholm. The following year, he graduated with honors. He left Vienna to tour Europe, and in early 1926 he traveled to the United States. After a brief stay in New York, he moved to Chicago, where he obtained a commission to paint murals for theaters owned by Balaban & Katz. That year his mural sketches were exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago. He then moved to New York, where he joined the staff of the noted Austrian architect and designer Josef Urban...

Pals - Two Bicycles Abstract Geometric Mixed Media Painting on Wood
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Rebecca Klundt’s "Pals" uncovers the unique beauty of original paintings, geometric abstractions, and textural mixed-media art. This 32-inch high by 25-inch wide artwork transforms reclaimed wood into a stunning assemblage finished with layers of acrylic paint, highlighting Klundt's commitment to sustainability and creative renewal. Perfect for lovers of eco-friendly art and modern textural compositions, "Pals" features a playful yet sophisticated design of figures composed of bold lines and shapes against a distressed wood-texture background. Klundt’s use of found materials and geometric patterns creates a sense of harmony and order, while the vibrant accents of orange and teal bring dynamic energy to this visually captivating piece. Key Features: > Mixed-Media Assemblage: Crafted from reclaimed wood and layered with acrylic paint, resulting in a textured, geometric composition. > Compact Statement Size: At 32 x 25 inches, this original artwork is ideal for adding a unique touch to smaller spaces or as part of a gallery wall. > Eco-Friendly Art: Made with sustainable materials, reflecting Klundt’s passion for repurposing and renewal. > Ready to Hang: Mounted on a sturdy wood panel, wired, and painted on the sides, eliminating the need for additional framing. > Authenticity Guaranteed: Signed on the back by Rebecca Klundt, with a certificate of authenticity included. About the Artist: Rebecca Klundt, a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, holds a BFA from Brigham Young University and is widely recognized for her innovative use of reclaimed materials in art. Inspired by the natural world and the process of transformation, Klundt creates abstract works that explore themes of renewal, order, and the beauty of lines. Her artistic philosophy embraces using "the unusable" and turning discarded materials into thoughtful, organized compositions. Drawing from the textures and fissures of Utah’s slick rock formations, Klundt’s works are a testament to her love of significant lines and her ability to imbue each piece with a sense of natural balance and human ingenuity. Why "Pals" Stands Out: Rebecca Klundt’s "Pals" is a perfect example of her ability to merge sustainability with contemporary art. Its playful geometric forms and eco-conscious construction make it an ideal addition for collectors seeking modern, textural art that tells a story of creativity and renewal. "Pals", a one-of-a-kind original mixed-media painting by Rebecca Klundt adds sustainable elegance to any home or office space. This unique, eco-friendly artwork celebrates the beauty of reclaimed materials and modern abstraction. Klundt's artworks have been exhibited in Utah and California and have been collected throughout the USA. The Tower - original large oil painting Paula Craioveanu 55x40in
Located in Forest Hills, NY
"The Tower" - original large art by Paula Craioveanu Original, large, unique painting, oil on canvas, 31.5x23.6in / 80x60cm. Shipped stretched, from Florida. Check 1stDibs code FREESHIP This painting, a study of an elaborate spiral staircase, demonstrates the artist’s skill in merging architectural elegance with a dynamic sense of movement and mystery. The subject itself—a wrought iron spiral staircase—becomes more than a functional object; it transforms into a metaphor for transcendence, curiosity, and the infinite. The staircase is richly ornate, with swirling ironwork patterns and intricate details that capture the eye. The artist emphasizes the craftsmanship, elevating the staircase into a work of art itself. The ornamental designs echo Baroque or Rococo influences, known for their flamboyance and decorative excess. The spiral is inherently dynamic, drawing the viewer’s gaze upward in a continuous loop. This quality imbues the staircase with motion and energy, almost as if it is alive, spiraling into another dimension. The artist employs a dramatic perspective, positioning the viewer at the base of the staircase, looking upward. This composition evokes a sense of aspiration or awe, as if the staircase ascends to an unknown destination. The light filtering through the structure accentuates the curvature and creates a contrast between the solid metal of the staircase and the soft, ephemeral glow of the environment. This interplay of light and shadow enhances the mood, making the staircase seem both tangible and ethereal. The cool metallic grays and silvers of the staircase reflect its materiality, suggesting durability and permanence. At the same time, the reflective surfaces give it a shimmering, almost celestial quality. The background is suffused with warm, earthy tones—yellows, browns, and muted greens—that contrast with the cold metal of the staircase. This contrast creates a sense of tension between the man-made structure and the organic or natural environment surrounding it. Symbolism. Spiral staircases are often symbolic of a journey, both physical and spiritual. They represent the process of ascent, growth, and transformation. This staircase seems to lead into a vortex of light, suggesting a path to enlightenment or transcendence. The spiral is a recurring motif in art and nature, often representing infinity, cycles, and continuity. The staircase's design hints at a journey without end, encouraging reflection on the passage of time and the eternal nature of life. The destination of the staircase is deliberately obscured, leaving the viewer to wonder where it leads. This creates a sense of mystery, drawing the viewer into an imaginative exploration of the unknown. The swirling patterns in the ironwork mirror the overall spiral shape of the staircase, creating a sense of harmony and cohesion. These designs also add a decorative richness to the piece, tying it to the tradition of Romanticism or Gothic Revival, where even utilitarian objects were imbued with beauty and meaning. The background is loosely rendered, with soft, swirling brushstrokes that echo the spiral of the staircase. This abstraction contrasts with the detailed depiction of the staircase, making the environment feel less defined and more dreamlike. The staircase appears to float in a liminal space, further emphasizing its symbolic and otherworldly qualities. The viewer’s vantage point and the sheer scale of the staircase evoke a feeling of awe. It could symbolize humanity’s ambitions to reach higher realms—intellectually, spiritually, or artistically. The absence of people in the painting draws attention to the object itself, suggesting introspection or solitude. The staircase might represent a solitary journey, one that each individual must take alone. The intricate design and upward motion of the staircase, combined with the lack of a specific time or place, imbue the piece with a sense of timelessness. It could exist in any era, representing universal human themes. In comparison to the artist’s other works, this painting shifts focus from mythological and figurative themes to an architectural subject. Yet, it retains the artist’s characteristic use of ornamentation, bold perspectives, and symbolic depth. Like the Minotaur or Zeus paintings...

Painting is an art form that has spanned innumerable cultures, with artists using the medium to tell stories, explore and communicate ideas and express themselves. To bring abstract paintings, landscape paintings, still-life paintings and other original paintings into your home is to celebrate and share in the long tradition of this discipline.

When we look at paintings, particularly those that originated in the past, we learn about history, other cultures and countries of the world. Like every other work of art, paintings — whether they are contemporary creations or works that were made during the 19th century — can often help us clearly see and understand the world around us in a meaningful and interesting way.

Cave walls were the canvases for what were arguably the world’s first landscape paintings, which depict natural scenery through art. Portrait paintings and drawings, which, along with sculpture, were how someone’s appearance was recorded prior to the advent of photography, are at least as old as Ancient Egypt. In the Netherlands, landscapes were a major theme for painters as early as the 1500s. Later, artists in Greece, Rome and elsewhere created vast wall paintings to decorate stately homes, churches and tombs.

Today, creating a wall of art is a wonderful way to enhance your space, showcase beautiful pieces and tie an interior design together.

No matter your preference, whether you favor Post-Impressionist paintings, animal paintings, Surrealism, Pop art or another movement or specific period, arranging art on a blank wall allows you to evoke emotions in a room while also showing off your tastes and interests. A symmetrical wall arrangement may comprise a grid of four to six pieces or, for an odd number of works, a horizontal row. Asymmetrical arrangements, which may be small clusters of art or large, salon-style gallery walls, have a more collected and eclectic feel.
