About the Item
'Veuve Pink Dance Art Collage' is a large abstracted acrylic on canvas painting of square format, created by American artist Amy Dixon in 2021. Featuring a vibrant palette made of a variety of colors such as purple, green, turquoise, red, pink and orange among many other tones, this large painting depicts a lovely bottle of Veuve Cliquot champagne slightly off center, the bottle seems to be blending with the abstract background while the discreet drippings accentuate the impression of verticality of the ensemble. With its joyous colors and nice proportions, this abstract still life painting will enliven any wall beautifully, whether placed above a bar, and in any nook and cranny. Unframed, the painting is signed lower right.
Amy Dixon’s loose, spontaneous canvases are full of life, energy and a glorious palette that warm the soul. Her energetic brushwork results in many applications of paint are drippingly layered, etched, opaque in some places and translucent in others. “I am constantly thinking about the language of color and how it expresses the energy and spontaneity behind my work,” Dixon tells us. Her passion for art is reflected in her paintings which are a response to her intuitive and impulsive need to create.

Amy Dixon
Amy Dixon, who now resides in Colorado with her family (including, according to her, a very spoiled Golden Retriever), was born in Monroe, Louisiana in 1959, and attended Newcomb College of Tulane University. The postgraduate study was completed in Florence, Italy and Dixon’s innate talent was honed at workshops with Wolf Kahn and Kim English.
