About the artist: As reflected in his latest paintings, Charlie Bluett's art has been driven by his overriding passion for the enhancement of the process, and the flow and ebb of life, and the light and color of the everyday.
He has always been entranced with the personal process that he undertakes when creating his pieces. He is continually pushing the elements of his process. This search for surfaces, color and form, reflect the time and experiences which came to pass as he did so and mirror in his creative output as a result of this keen and single minded focus toward his art.
His works contain elements that pay homage to the techniques and the deft touches of the Old Masters, blended with abstract expressionism and the colorfield painting of the contemporary names of our time.
His contemporary abstract colorfield paintings focus on the natural scenes & objects we are exposed to within the Earth’s vast and varied outdoor environments. Contours, tones, colors and nature’s balance feature heavily in his paintings, and capture the very essence of the natural world around us and the elements that combine to create it.
The changing surfaces, vibrant and ethereal color use, and the consistent subtle movement of form and mind within the works, is considered and yet fluid, challenging and yet totally at peace within itself.
Bluett's pieces convey and allow the viewer to share in this highly personal journey. He currently works from his studio in Vermont, part of the beautiful & inspirational North East Kingdom of the USA.

"My art practice crosses three continents over two decades. The works consider the images and ideas that mark my journey into the spiritual and cultural dimensions of painting as a creative activity. During a period when I have carried adventurous journeys across several different social and geographic divides, I began to search deeper for an understanding of who I am, and where I am. My paintings started to explore the idea of self as the most fundamental element of human nature; I tried to seek my identity as I examined human nature." Hyunmee Lee was born in Seoul Korea, where she grew up practicing Western Modern art with experience in Eastern painting...

REFLECTIONS 1 - Contemporary Atmospheric Landscape, Modern Seascape Painting
By Grzegorz Wójcik
Located in Salzburg, AT
A few words of the artist about his art:
When i painting landscapes, I usually choose simple geometric arrangements, contrasts of verticals and levels. I juxtapose the smooth surface of the sky with the rough texture of earth or grass.
I paint symmetrical reflections in water and rhythmic repetitions of trees. Even an ordinary, seemingly uninteresting fragment of the suburban landscape hides a beauty that I want to see and then transfer to the canvas.
I am inspired by nature because it contains a hidden secret of existence. For me, painting it is a reflection on life and passing away. It is an attempt to capture the imperceptible essence, to paint what cannot be seen.
I think that my paintings can be a respite, an antidote for a man tired of technology, constant rush, hustle and bustle of the city.

My World Within
By Charlotte Bernstrom
Located in Burlingame, CA
Rothko-esque Color Field painting that delights from a distance and up close from Swedish-American visual artist Charlotte Bernstrom, who creates acrylic paintings that are poetic explorations depicting nature and humanity’s place within it. Taking queues from Abstract Expressionism and Impressionism, through juxtaposing nature-inspired fields of color over earth-like stained and textured canvas, the autobiographical works are rooted in landscape and lean toward abstraction. Bernstrom’s paintings, with their complex, earth-like surfaces, evoke an emotional response that directs viewers toward a consciousness of their place in the natural world, and perhaps also encourage better care of the Earth.
Born and raised in Sweden, Charlotte was mentored by her grandfather, the painter Lennart Schultzberg. He started teaching her plein air painting when she was five years old. He came up with innovative ways of teaching a young child perspective, color theory and to use different mediums. She learned about seeing, listening, feeling and how to translate those qualities through paint. Charlotte was influenced and inspired by an environment filled with art.
In her early twenties, Charlotte moved to San Francisco and studied at the Academy of Art University and the California College of the Arts. Her landscape paintings gradually became more abstract and autobiographical, with an emphasis on color and texture.
