Hot Pink, Light Rose, and Vermillion Excess Trio Combo by Chloe Hedden erupts in a visceral symphony of heat, sweetness, and saturation—an unapologetic celebration of color’s emotional extremes through sculptural Excessivism.
Hot Pink bursts forth with magnetic energy. Its rich, saturated hue is electrified by Hedden’s signature textural dynamism—furrows and ridges that radiate with tension and sensuality. Next to it, Light Rose offers a soft counterpoint. With plush, whipped textures and a powdery pastel tint, it brings a tenderness that tempers the intensity, like a whisper amidst a shout. Then comes Vermillion, ablaze with molten orange fire—thick, ripe, and glowing. Its texture presses outward with urgency, pushing at the edges of containment.
As a trio, they span the spectrum from flirtation to fervor. The palette suggests skin, flame, candy, and heat—visceral and immediate. Yet, in Hedden’s hands, this isn’t simply indulgent color—it’s a critique of restraint. The excess is the point. This combination is a manifesto of abundance, a tactile celebration of too much.

The works are pure abstraction and usually often employ bright colors used in the commercial world. Brush strokes are impulsive and are left unaltered to capture her mood at the time of making.

About artist:
Born in Utah (USA), Chloe Hedden looks for the unseen patterns and hidden narratives that reveal the magnificence in all things. According to the artist, there is a still point in every moment and to capture this essential luminescence is what she aims for in her practice. Chloe makes use of archetypes from the cultural and mystical history to inform her work. It is through this inspiration that she created her latest body of work comprised of intricately folded Burlap wall sculptures. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design in 2002, Chloe's paintings and sculptures can be found in numerous public and private collections.

Chloe Hedden
I was born and raised in Utah's wild red desert, but have had the great fortune to call many amazing places around the world my home. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, I am as comfortable painting large oils as I am illustrating children’s books. In 2007, I won an International Creativity award in the category of commercial illustration for “The Peaceful Warrior.” My first children’s book, “The Illuminated Desert,” written by Terry Tempest Williams and published by the Canyonlands Natural History Association in 2008, won The Mountains and Plains Bookseller’s Award for Best Children’s Book. My paintings and sculptures can we found in numerous public and private collections around the world.
