Daphne Anastassiou was born in Viña del Mar - Chile (1955) and currently lives in Santiago de Chile. Her family was closely linked to art, so she started drawing and painting at a very young age. She studied in England, Greece and Chile. In 1991 she began her career as a painter and in 2014 she began to develop her large-format sculptures, which the artist considers an elastic projection of painting. The artist considers that "art is a key piece for the evolution and enlightenment of humanity" and also defines it as "a space for inner connection". Through different media and artistic disciplines she has been able to offer a vision and tools that contribute to the development of human potential and the expansion of consciousness. Artistic creation has allowed Daphne Anastassiou to follow her interests, to deepen her curiosity, to question forms and means of expression, coexisting and moving through mediums such as drawing, music, writing, painting and sculpture. Anastassiou's process of artistic creation is linked to the intuitive, the silent and the magical, a space that provides him with connections to different scales of consciousness. This process results in the representation of an imaginary that synthesises the human being in different planes of interconnection and evolutionary dimensions. She develops a methodology of work in constant experimentation, a search that seeks to go beyond form, a continuous displacement. Daphne Anastassiou has exhibited in Santiago de Chile, New York, London, Paris, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, Cairo, Athens and Madrid.
