About the Item

Falling Into an Unmade Bed is a 40 x 40 spray paint on canvas painting by Houston artist Erick Sandlin. It is finished on the sides so there is no need for a frame. Erick Sandlin is a self-taught artist who works exclusively with spray paint. He lives in the Heights in Houston, Texas, by way of Texarkana, College Station, Waco and Austin. Erick is also a commercial litigation attorney at Bracewell LLP. “Because I work exclusively with spray paint and don't use brushes, I never exactly know what a painting will look like when I'm painting it. I paint in my backyard, so the humidity, the wind, paint mixture and angle of the canvas all affect what happens on the canvas. Leaves and sticks sometimes get in the painting as well. I enjoy the process and seeing each painting come to life. Each painting has a life of its own, and I let the process dictate where each painting goes. I just try to get out of the way.”

Both Sides of the Gerund Abstract/Canvas Spray Paint Contemporary 40" x 40"
Located in Houston, TX
Both Sides of the Gerund by Erick Sandlin is an Abstract/Canvas Spray Paint work of art that is 40" x 40" . THere is no need for a frame because the painting is finished on the sides aka gallery wrapped. What's a gerund? A gerund is the noun form of a verb that ends in -ing. For example, playing, dancing, eating. Right away this is confusing for students, as they are used to seeing that form as the continuous/progressive form of the verb (“she is eating”, “they were dancing”). Erick Sandlin is a self-taught artist who works exclusively with spray paint. He lives in the Heights in Houston, Texas, by way of Texarkana, College Station...

Artist Comments
Artist Linda McCord captures rhythm and flow through shifting shapes and color in this acrylic pouring. Using her custom paint formulas, Linda controls the formation and sizes of the cells to create depth and movement. This piece features a vibrant palette of purple, blue, teal, pink, gray, and white.

About the Artist
Artist Linda McCord works with most two-dimensional mediums and creates fluid art using transparent layers. Embracing both a methodical and flexible approach, she delves into the scientific aspects of the process, incorporating mathematical concepts rather than emotions. "Composition and color schemes are my primary focus," says Linda. She managed her own gallery for a decade while also imparting her knowledge of painting and printmaking in college classes. Linda's dedication and self-taught journey have led to numerous awards for her work. She diligently spends eight hours a day, five days to six a week, in her spacious and paint-covered studio next to her home. In her spare time, Linda enjoys crafting Nuno felt hats, searching for reference materials, and marketing her creations.
