Nature-Inspired Minimalist Abstract Color Field Painting on three panels in light brown and beige
Acrylic on 3 wood panels
Each panel is 24 x 18 x 2 inches

Overall measurement for vertical install: 56 x 24 x 2 inches
Overall measurement for horizontal install: 24 x 56 x 2 inches
We are amazed by this artist's ability to achieve multiple flawless layers of acrylic paint, wiping it on and off to create a subtle yet distinctive woven texture on a perfectly smooth surface. It appears as though a light source is originating behind the panel, glowing softly in a pale, dreamy palette of striated light brown and green. This unique surface spreads all the way to the very edge of each panel. The 2 inch deep sides are cleanly painted white for a seamless finish. These panels hover on the wall and can be arranged in any number of ways, highlighting the work's sculptural element.
Artist's Statement:
My paintings merge the detailed textures and colors found in the natural world with the linear and geometric patterns visible in industrial and architectural structures. The interplay of these elements drives the work and provides a platform for constant change and narrative. By simultaneously layering and removing paint with rags instead of brushes, my hand is directly involved with the process. Each piece contains multiple panels that evoke a nuanced and evolving universe.
Ginny Fox builds up each non-representational piece with overlapping streaks of paint that frequently span two or three panels. Working with rags instead of brushes, Fox’s hand moves along parallel paths, emergent colors cascading gently towards the edges of the composition's plane. There’s something vaporous to the outer layers of the work, the interwoven strands of color offering glimpses at the painting’s earthy base and hinting at the artist’s gradual process. Having received her education from New York University in the 1970s, Fox has since exhibited throughout the United States, especially in New York City and the northeastern U.S.

Artist Statement:
My paintings are a merging of textures and colors referencing both organic and fabricated materials. I am inspired equally by patterns in nature, as well as those in textiles, architecture, and a myriad of manufactured elements. After many years living in the Bronx, I recently moved back to the Upper West Side of Manhattan, where the confluence of the Hudson River, its rocky environs, and multiple architectural structures has become a renewed source of inspiration. My studio in Yonkers, N.Y. is in a turn of the century carpet mill overlooking hills and industrial complexes, another locale containing the merging of elements so integral to my work. Layers of time evident in random markings on stone; light raked across water and sky; the open weave of moss covered earth -- all inform the work, resulting in a cohesive entity. By layering and removing paint with rags instead of brushes, my hand is directly involved with the process. Many of the paintings are comprised of multiple panels, allowing for a subtle narrative of a nuanced and evolving universe.

We are amazed by this artist's ability to achieve multiple flawless layers of acrylic paint, wiping it on and off with cotton cloth, to create a subtle yet distinctive woven texture on a smooth surface. The artist's work is inspired by patterns found in nature such as tree rings, rock lines, ethereal horizons, or water ripples. There is a Block in the Void 1261 - Neutral Sculptural Painting on Canvas
By Len Klikunas
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Artist Len Klikunas creates meditative minimalist sculptural artworks that modify experienced reality through visual perception. His art is a mix of art and architecture, hovering between painting and sculpture, energy and matter. It employs shizen (自然): the Japanese concept of naturalness, absence of pretense, or artificiality. Material is stretched over a supporting three-dimensional framework, like a tent, and coated with paint allowing shadows and reflections to fill the spaces in between.
This sculptural three-dimensional 18-inches square and 5-inch deep post-minimalist artwork is wired and ready to hang. It is created with mixed media on canvas, stretched over a three-dimensional wooden form. The artist finishes the sides of this artwork as a continuation of the front and signs and titles the artwork on the back. Convenient local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable worldwide shipping for US and international art collectors. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Klikunas focuses on the larger idea behind his original abstract minimalist artworks. The work is characterized by “mindful artlessness” and simplicity. The natural-like radiation that comes from the structure of the materials and color schemes expresses calmness. With a fusion of art and architecture, Klikunas presents compositions focused on abstract reliefs based on regularity and geometry that defy conventional perceptions. Through strategic placement and a rich color palette that also includes monochrome paintings, he creates three-dimensional structures that engage viewers in a captivating visual experience.
Len Klikunas' sculptural minimalist works are represented by Artspace Warehouse Los Angeles. They have been included in numerous exhibitions at galleries and art fairs as well as private and public collections throughout the world.
