Inspired by the sea and water, the composition features shades of blue accented with hints of gold to evoke the sunset. Part of artist Janet Hamilton's Stripes Series, the piece offers a textured, mixed-media interpretation of an abstract seascape. Janet meticulously layers oil paint into lines using palette knives, then blends, adds, and repositions the paint.

Artist Janet Hamilton creates heavily-textured abstracts with multiple layers of color that reflect the emotional depth of her passion-filled process. She demonstrates a mastery over color choice, with each palette evoking specific moods and emotions. Her linear gradations have become a technique she has been exploring endlessly. Janet’s ideas come to fruition at an office space in her home that she now uses as a studio. She paints with knives to build depth and stacks the paint in rhythmic striped patterns. She expresses geometric designs in a structured cacophony of energetic abstractions using her spontaneity and youthful spirit. Janet has shown her artwork in several exhibitions and featured in many private establishments throughout the United States. Janet spends her precious time outside the studio with her two loving children.
