About the Item

Framed work On a white background, JonOne interprets dense, modern calligraphy in black. The repetition of free-form shapes and the dripping effect create a dense, expressive motif. This ink was used as a model for the serigraph series published the same year by Speerstra Gallery and Paul Bourquin. Certificate of authenticity JonOne, whose real name is John Andrew Perello, is an American artist of Dominican origin, born on November 17, 1963, in New York. He is internationally recognized for his contribution to contemporary art, particularly in the fields of street art and abstraction. From a young age, JonOne was fascinated by graffiti and urban artistic expressions that flourished on the streets of New York in the early 1970s. He began painting graffiti on the streets of his hometown at the age of 17, quickly becoming a major player in the New York graffiti scene. In the 1980s, JonOne decided to settle in Paris, where he continued to develop his unique style. He created bold and colorful works, blending elements of graffiti with abstraction, exploring the fusion of urban energy with more abstract forms and colors. This fusion became his artistic signature, allowing him to stand out in the world of contemporary art. Over the decades, JonOne has gained international acclaim through exhibitions in prestigious galleries and museums around the world. His work has been showcased in Paris, New York, London, Tokyo, and many other cities, attracting the attention of collectors and art enthusiasts worldwide. In addition to his canvas works, JonOne has also collaborated with fashion brands, musicians, and companies to create unique artistic projects. He is known for his artistic versatility, transitioning from street art to canvas painting, from abstract calligraphy to colorful expressionism. JonOne continues to push the boundaries of his art, exploring new ideas and concepts while remaining true to his artistic roots. His work symbolizes the ever-evolving nature of contemporary art and its ability to transcend cultural and geographical boundaries. JonOne remains a major artist in the world of contemporary art, whose influence endures and inspires new generations of artists.
