This is a one of a kind original abstract expressionist painting by local San Diego artist, Kelsey Overstreet. This painting is 37.5 x 61.75 x 2.5. It comes framed.
Overstreet uses many shades of pink here creating a spiral like pattern up the length of the canvas. She employs an impasto technique using thick and visible brush strokes. This gorgeous painting evokes emotion in its viewers.
Overstreet’s range as an artist spans over multiple mediums, specifically concerning itself with painting. She explains that her “abstract paintings are blueprints: a visual reference for the structure of the human experience. This structure is divided into three rooms: the body, sensory experience, and thoughts and feelings. I create the blueprint for these rooms using the principles of embodiment, awareness, and the tension of yin and yang.”
She explains that her work is autobiographical in nature and aims to “focus on the benefits of embodiment within the process of creating. It is a timeline of the personal history and evidence of being present; a photo emulsion of felt experience.”
