About the Item

Sacred Abstraction, Royal blue, red and gold leaf on carved wood pane, signed on the back. Krzysztof (Chris) Sokolovski born in 1985 in Eisiskes in Lithuania. Visual artist creating neosacral art: paintings, luminous objects, installations, and monumental painting. He is a creator of the concept of neosacral art. Since 2003 he lives and creates in Poland. He graduated from Gdansk University of Technology (Faculty of Power Engineering) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (Faculty of Painting). Also, the artist took a course in clinical anatomy at the Medical University of Gdansk. Sokolovski has created neosacral chapels in Klebark Wielki (Poland) and in Salesian Sisters Convent in Jerusalem. Concept: Sokolowski wants to create modern sacral art founded on visual tradition and theologies of many cultures. “I think that abstract codification of faith is the prospective and only way to save serious attitude to contemporary human’s spirituality. It is fundamental for responsible usage of developing knowledge about the empirical world and for forming sensibility, which should be adequate to it. In my opinion, the progress of civilization cannot be holistic if it is mostly based on scientific and technological development – metaphysical sensitivity is necessary too. Empirical knowledge is confinement if we use it only for improving conveniences and gaining more knowledge. It is not enough for the evolution of mind, which should advance along with changes in our environment.” Individual Exhibition 2018 – “Neosacral Art”, Saris Museum, Bardejov, Slovakia 2018 – “Neosacral Art”, the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Lublin, Poland 2018 – “Neosacral Art”, Gallery “Camaldolese Cellar”, Church in Bielany Forest, Warsaw, Poland 2018 – “Neosacral Art”, Museum of Mińsk Mazowiecki, Mińsk Mazowiecki, Poland 2017 – “Neosacral Art”, Zielona 13 Gallery, Łódź, Poland 2017 – “Neosacral Art”, the University of Warsaw Gallery, Warsaw, Poland 2017 – “Neosacral Art”, Bohema Gallery, Warsaw, Poland 2016 – “Neosacral Art”, Philosophy of Religion Department, University of Warsaw, Poland 2016 – “Neosacral Art”, Gallery of Association “Polish Community”, Warsaw, Poland 2016 – “Neosacral Art”, Exhibition-Conferential Centre, Białystok, Poland Selected group exhibition 2017 – “Deification of Body”, Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv, Ukraine 2017 – “Sokolovski / Wąsowski / Jędrzejko / Mazuś”, Bohema Gallery, Warsaw, Poland 2016 – “1st Pomeranian Biennial of Young Art”, Sopot, Poland 2016 – “Shape of Spirit”, Gallery of Mathematics and Computer Science Department, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Poland 2016 – “Diverted Reality”, Evelyn E. Untitled III Abstract Composition
By Agata Koczan
Located in Lake Worth Beach, FL
Untitled III Abstract Composition She graduated from the University of Fine Arts Nicolaus Copernicus in Torun, Poland. Graduated with honors in paintings and visual arts 2014. She is a young emerging artist exhibiting in Europe. Her work is visually captivating with great details and movement. Artist Statment: On the surface, these images do not represent anything. They’re compilations of color patches and lines. However, the forms that these two basic components take, create new entities and a variety of paths for interpretation. A patch is the pure color of the background. It’s a vibrating color, living its own, intense life. It’s also a background for the line drawing. In my painting, I decided to treat these two elements as one. The lines are as intense in color as the patches. The line is no longer just a drawing; it’s an equal component of the painting, it creates the painting with its color. While painting, I always kept the same order of applying the paint, so that the line evenly covers the patch, and, observed from a sufficient distance, becomes a patch itself. This creates a kind of optical illusion. Our site has to adapt to drizzle, to a peculiar noise caused by the equivalent of all the elements of the painting whose planes permeate. This mutual permeation enlivens the elements of the painting which seem to vibrate, become liquid and lively. And it was this effect of liquidity that inspired me. I was wondering how to convey the movement of not only water but of everything that lives and grows, of everything that is natural. I decided that multiplication, repeatability of the theme, and the equal character of these features will be the common features that to a great extent will present my interests. The „Noise” series is strictly inspired by nature. One could say that the series represents nature, but it’s a representation so deeply reduced that the true forms of real things disperse and blur, revealing their true meaning.” Exhibition: "Interference", WMiI Nicolaus Copernicus University, Torun 2016 "Image Open", Gallery Brda, Bydgoszcz 2015 "Noise", Gallery of the Vistula River, Torun 2014 "Balc" Black Hole Gallery, Toruń 2010 Exhibition of paintings, Mount Blanc...

Spirals Large Abstract Expressionist
By Jerzy Kubina
Located in Lake Worth Beach, FL
Spirals 2021 Jerzy Kubina Polish/American Artist: Jerzy was born in Zamosc, Poland, 1956. Studied at the Academy Of Fine Arts in Krakow 1981/1986 in the painting department under individual instructions of prof. Jan Szancenbach. He decided to immigrate to New York in 1986. Jerzy constructs large scale images on silk using technologies to create layers, textures, translucency. He is searching for a language that expresses the ideas inside. Sometimes the paintings are quiet and translucent, and then suddenly become very dramatic. There is a symbiotic relationship between him and the materials. Jerzy Kubina has exhibited his work widely in the US, including at Soho New York's first-ever gallery, the esteemed O. K. Harris. He has also shown internationally, in Paris, Poland and Mexico. Kubina graduated Magna Cum Laude from the M. A. program of The Academy of Fine Arts, Cracow, Poland. Artist Statement. "I do not limit myself to a classical representation of an image. I'm in constant search of new media which not only enriches the subject but also inspires me to new forms of expression. Visual appreciation is a creative exercise performed in a specified time and a specific emotional state. The subject must be individual and unique. I do not attempt to keep a tight rein on my art’s framework, but give myself the opportunity to individualize each of the works. My present concerns are of the sacred and the profane, always longing for harmony, accompanied by destruction and devastation, my inner world translates that pulse into color images. My new works are a continuation of the process of creating art for art's sake. Selected Exhibitions: 2016 Square Peg Gallery, Hasting on Hudson, NY 2015 Roshkowska Gallery...

"Home", abstract sculpture, wood, paint, geometry, circle, center, flow
Located in Toronto, Ontario
"Home" is an abstract artwork by Stan Olthuis composed of acrylic paint on baltic birch panel. Home measures 40" high by 30" wide by 1" deep. Typical of the artist, this minimal geometric abstraction resonates with a rich charge. It's a sculpture and a painting. The lines are elegant. The artist's obsession with geometry and intersecting shapes is a clear gesture here. The eye delights in the formal play of shape and color, while the mind engages the material force of the wood and paint. From Stan Olthuis – "My work has always involved tactility and expressionistic energy. I visualize the story and imagery simultaneously, allowing the work to surprise me and come to life as I work. I am almost careless in how I use color and texture, facing the fear of improvising on-the-fly. I like to leave the obvious raw record of the process visible, but I believe a mystery remains." Stan Olthuis looks for expressive opportunities in found and harvested raw material – wood, stone, metal, rubber – and brings a fabricator's expertise to the work of making minimalist, joyful sculptures. Geometry is key, as are a sense of play and an adept's feel for sacred energies. His work is exhibited and collected internationally, including private and corporate commissions in Canada, United States, France, Japan and Norway. Stan is represented by Gagné Contemporary in Toronto and New York City, and has select works available through the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), and Motokawa Gallery in Japan. Stan Olthuis' formal education began in Chicago with Henk Krijger, the celebrated master printmaker, type designer, painter and sculptor. Back in Toronto, Olthuis graduated (with distinction) with a degree in Experimental Arts at Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD), studying under artists Fred Hagen, Tom Hodgson...
