"Azurite II" 2019
Acrylic Paint, Vellum, Board
The artist signed the back of the painting.
"Azurite II" by Lesley Anne Spowart is an evocative abstract piece that seamlessly combines vibrant acrylic paints with the tactile richness of vellum on board. The artist’s mastery of color is on full display here, with bold strokes of red, deep blues, and dynamic green punctuating the canvas. These swirling hues create an energy that feels both fluid and grounded. The vellum surface adds a layer of texture, enhancing the overall depth of the composition. Framed in a minimalist natural wood frame, the piece invites the viewer to interpret its abstract forms freely. Spowart’s work is known for its emotive use of color and form, creating a sense of movement and balance that captivates the viewer, making it a striking addition to any collection.

About the Artist:
As a California native (b. 1968, Los Angeles, CA), Kristy Chettle’s paintings explore reflective and thought-provoking themes of nature, transformation, and self-empowerment.
