About the Item
SUNDOG 25 is an acrylic on panel painting belonging to the Sundog series inspired by the meteorological phenomenon of Sundogs (parhelia), occurrences of bright spots straddling the Sun in a 22° halo. The illusion-like quality of the pattern is strengthened by taping the panel’s edges, which creates the lifting effect and turns the flat surface into a multidimensional object. Minimalistic, but also quite complex, the pastel hues reflect the optimism and lightness found in nature and offering solace from the bright colors of ads and social media.
SUNDOG 25 was featured in Linda King Ferguson’s solo exhibition Kissing the Sky at the Channel To Channel Gallery.
