About the Item
Mario González (MALLO)
Spring Garden 6 Oil on Canvas Abstract Floral Cuban Artist 29" x 27"
Cuban Artist
Stains of color and loose brushstrokes make up a type of contemporary landscape, in which it breaks with the guidelines of the conventional landscape and delves into a totally emotional, upright landscape, in which, beyond the stains, there is something else to find, that discover, where it goes beyond one's own external vision to enter new horizons capable of turning the visible into invisible.
The flower not only produces seeds, but is also the epicenter of many of the areas that make up human life, its floral traditions are innumerable and its customs and trends have conquered areas as important as religion, personal life or culture. . Its aesthetics, from its colors and shapes to the number of petals, were a source of reflections.
In a certain way, MALLO appropriates the flowers to create its own landscape created by symbols in which not only traditional meanings but also new values contributed by the new sensitivity intervene. Turning it into a symbol of spiritualization of matter and creating a spring season in which different natural elements converge, emphasizing the transience of the transitory nature of life.
Mario González Rodríguez started his career as an art instructor in Cuba before being discovered by numerous art galleries in the U.S and finding extreme popularity. His artworks rarely sit unsold. His vanguard style, suggestive with color present a much-refined aesthetic that is not seen in every abstract painter. Capable of constantly reinventing his style, González Rodríguez does not stay stagnant.
From blossoming and bleeding flowers to abstract symbols and geometric abstracts that represent the alien of our world, Mario does not disappoint in carving a space for himself in the history of Cuban art. He is capable of creating his work with balance and equilibrium creating compositions filled with letters and symbols, some controversial but all pleasing to the eye.
His works are in private collections in countries such as: United States, Europe, Russia, Mexico, Chile, Canada and Argentina, in the latter collaborating with an Argentine writer, Gabriel Vacchelli on the cover of his novel that was presented in the last edition. of the Buenos Aires International Book Fair.
2010. Bachelor of Education in Art Instructor in the Specialty of Plastic Arts.
2011. Graduated from the School of Art Instructors, in Plastic Arts "March 13", San Antonio de los Baños.
“… His plastic work is defined by having a remarkable expressive force. The painting itself becomes the center in itself and calls for dialogue, emotion. The lines burst and take over the space, merging with the opposing textures, which are broken, perhaps structurally, but which go beyond the limits established by the frame of the piece ... he uses the pretext of contradiction to generate an analysis personal. The visualization of his paintings occurs in a coherent process of constant experimental search. "

Spring Garden
