About the Item
This is an abstract oil painting on wood. This piece relies on geometric forms in a playful manner. The colors that make up this work are reminiscent of water, land, and where they clash. Shades of ultramarine blue strike through the neutral, sandy yellow oranges and ripple across the piece. It is sold unframed, but suitable for hanging as is. The artist has signed the work in the back.
Miguel Martinez-Riddle is a painter and installation artist, born in Brooklyn of Puerto Rican parentage. Martinez-Riddle is a sophisticated artist who has taught painting, design, and art history; he is very knowledgeable about current issues in art. He has an MFA in painting from Hunter College, and maintains a studio in the Catskills.
