About the Item
Created with colored resin; acrylic paint in resin. As one looks over the hills and valleys in this piece as well as in Colorado generally, the magnificent sky dominates. Patches of white are interspersed among the brilliant blue. At the top of a mountain, on a clear day one can see forever. Thus, our sight is expanded and expansive. We look into the distance in order to do the impossible - see into the future. Intellectually, we understand that we cannot know the future. Indeed, I know that if I could have foreseen some of the challenges that I've encountered, I probably could not have gone on. But I persevered through those humbling, difficult, no doubt in large part because there is no other reasonable option. So I keep looking, keep attempting to see over the mountain, into the next valley, and into the future.
