About the Item
Modern Geometric Green & White Kimono, Abstract Expressionist Collagraph Plate #3
Stunning modern minimalism meets abstract expressionism with green, white and black in this unique mixed media work, that was created as a Master plate for collagraph printmaking by Patricia A. Pearce (American, b. 1948). The simple geometric form of a white kimono is split in two to reveal a bold green background, the force of which sends dynamic and textural white paint splatters from the inside towards the edges, bringing the unmistakable energy of abstract expressionism to this otherwise minimalist piece. This piece is heavily textured and painted, as it was originally created for use in making collagraph prints.
Unsigned, from a collection of the artist's works.
Unframed.
Includes original storage sleeve.
Collotype: a process for making high-quality prints from a sheet of light-sensitive gelatin exposed photographically to the image without using a screen.

Awards include Grade Prize, 3rd Biennial Exhibition of Prints, Wakayama Japan; Grant, Peninsula Community Foundation.
