'Existence within Parameters' - a beautiful contemporary abstract art from the emerging American artist - Rebecca Stern. It is a mixed media (acrylic, ink) painting on canvas with an elegant design and expressive nature. Strong blue color palette create dynamic aesthetic for any interior decor. 'I externalize my internal monologue into a visual narrative. In the studio, I am in control. Regardless of what else might be going on in my life or the world, I paint, collage, stitch, and construct materials. My aim is to understand the relationship between my existence and the events that take place around me. I create a “mental landscape” to explore themes of intrinsic motivation, control, chance, change, and balance. Gestural marks produce a visual depiction of thought patterns illustrated through repetition, texture, juxtaposition, color and negative space. Manipulating materials in my studio assists me in mitigating the fact that I can’t control what goes on in the day to day. I’m on a journey towards accepting what is. It is this fact that brings me back to the studio again and again' 'Mixed media is a term used to describe artworks composed from a combination of different media or materials. The use of mixed media began around 1912 with the cubist collages and constructions of Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, and has become widespread as artists developed increasingly open attitudes to the media of art. Essentially art can be made of anything or any combination of things.' - as defined by Tate, UK. It is an original unique contemporary art piece that is in excellent condition (new). It is shipped directly from the artist's studio in the US along with a Certificate of Authenticity, signed and dated by the artist. You will receive the painting rolled up in a tube. It will have to be mounted on stretchers.
