"Abstract Morning Light" Geometric Composition in Acrylic on Canvas
Bright abstract painting by Rod Norman (American, b. 1947). Colorful shapes are layered upon each other, creating the impression of overlapping beams of colorful sunlight. Most of the colors are pastel shades - pinks, yellows, and purples - with one section of a darker green.
Titled, signed, and dated on verso: "Abstract Morning Light" 11 x 14 Rod Norman 2003

Rod Norman (American, b. 1947) is an artist and art director from Oregon. He was the Creative Group Head, SVP for D'Arcy Macius Benton and Bowles in Ney York for ten years, transitioning to a full time career as a painter later on in life. Norman began painting at a young age, winning his first exhibition prize at eight years old. He first studied drawing and painting with Dr. Charles Deitz, the director of the local art museum in Ohio, and then at the Art Student's league in the evening classes while working as an executive at Benton and Bowles.
