Tycjan Knut, born in 1985 in Warsaw, is a highly talented artist who graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in 2011. During his studies, he had the privilege of learning painting under the guidance of the esteemed Prof. Jarosław Modzelewski. Later on, he pursued his Ph.D. at the Institute of Fine Arts in Kielce, specifically at the Jan Kochanowski University.
Knut's artistic practice primarily revolves around painting and drawing. His works predominantly consist of subtle abstractions that not only resonate with the echoes of the geometric trend, but also display a strong desire to transcend tradition and break free from the constraints of formulaic approaches. One of the defining characteristics of Knut's oeuvre is his masterful utilization of delicate tonal differences and the incorporation of subtle colors.
What sets Knut apart is his unique ability to create reductive images that possess multi-level compositions. These compositions are the result of the layering and overlapping of colors over time, reminiscent of the organic world. Tycjan Knut was born in 1985 in Warsaw, graduated in 2011 from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts after studying painting in the studio of Prof. Jarosław Modzelewski. Ph.D. at the Jan Kochanowski University Institute of Fine Arts in Kielce. Knut works in painting and drawing, He mostly creates subtle abstractions, which resound with the echo of the geometric trend, but also express a desire to exceed that tradition, freed from the constraints of formula. Knut uses delicate tonal differences and subtle colours. His reductive images also have qualities of a multi-level composition, because they were established as a result of the rise and overlap of colours in time, in a way that resembles the organic world. Guided by intuition and imagination. He’s known for digging in archives in search for long forgotten or unknown abstract “masters”, as his interest focuses on discovering the art from 1960s. and 1970s.
