Uscita - Large Scale Trompe L'oeil Gardenscape Inspired by Ancient Roman Frescos
Located in Chicago, IL
"Uscita" takes Inspiration from ancient Italian frescos originally found at the Villa di Livia outside of Rome. The trompe l'oeil frescos were from a subterranean room used for dining. The lush gardens gave the dinner guests the illusion of dining alfresco. Here Pylant took particular notice of the flora and fauna painted over 2000 years ago only to discover they were species that were also present at her then North Carolina studio. The artist adds an architectural element to the gardenscape to suggest a portal from the past into the present. This exploration of the ancient world and its connection to the present is a central theme running through Pylant's work. Carol S. Pylant Uscita oil and acrylic on canvas 40h x 62w in 101.60h x 157.48w cm CSP035 CAROL PYLANT Resume Title Artist / Emeritus Professor, University of Wisconsin-Madison Education 1979 M.F.A. Alone Together, Original Painting
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
A pair of sandhill cranes stand on opposite sides, their intense eyes seemingly watching each other's backs. Their stoic stance accentuates as the pond they inhabit fades into the grayish rainy mist of California's Central Valley in early winter. Rendered with a loose, watercolor-like technique, the birds' portrayal carries an expressive touch.

About the Artist
Emil Morhardt is an acrylic painter from Santa Barbara, California who expresses his passion for birds through realistic acrylic paintings. He paints at home in a studio room that has large windows and a north-facing view of the mountains. He observes the animals from this window, watching roadrunners, foxes, bobcats, deer, and coyote run by. Surrounded by this wildlife, Emil paints bird portraits reminiscent of those by artist John James Audubon. He bases his paintings off hundreds of photographs he takes of birds in the wild and at wildlife recovery centers. Emil captures the freedom and inquisitiveness that birds display...

Serenity
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Serenity is an original painting by Bright Toh. Bright created Serenity Acrylic on a 27.5W by 35.4H inches primed canvas. The artwork "Serenity" is a bright and colorful depiction of a lion head and rose flower, created entirely by a human hand. The combination of these two natural elements results in a stunning and harmonious image that exudes a sense of calm and tranquility. The lion head is the central focus of the artwork, rendered in vibrant hues of orange and yellow that evoke a sense of warmth and vitality. The lion's mane, which surrounds its powerful features, is depicted in a range of shades, from soft pastel pinks and purples to fiery reds and oranges. The overall effect is one of movement and fluidity as if the lion's mane is a living thing in and of itself. Intertwined with the lion's mane is a delicate rose flower, rendered in shades of pink and red that complement the warm tones of the lion's fur. The rose seems to emerge from the lion's mane as if it is a natural extension of the animal's power and beauty. The combination of these two elements creates a powerful visual metaphor, suggesting that beauty and strength can coexist in perfect harmony. Despite the boldness of its colors and imagery, "Serenity" also conveys a sense of calm and tranquility. The lion's expression is serene, and the rose is depicted in a way that suggests a sense of peace and stillness. The artwork invites the viewer to slow down and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the natural world, and to find solace in its quiet strength. Overall, "Serenity" is a powerful and evocative work of art that combines elements of nature in a way that is both visually stunning and emotionally resonant. Its vibrant colors and bold imagery capture the viewer's attention, while its underlying sense of peace and harmony invites reflection and contemplation. It is a testament to the beauty and power of the natural world and a reminder of the importance of finding serenity in our busy and often chaotic lives. Bright Toh artworks portray the exquisite synergy that exists between the evolving African man, wildlife, and their common environment, through the possession of totems as a liaison to his ancestries, which is a core aspect of his identity and cultural heritage. Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (Issued by the Gallery) About Artist Born on the 6th of august 1994 in Buea, Bright Toh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Buea. Last Shot
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
At the heart of "Last Shot" is a young woman, the central character of this evocative piece. She is fully absorbed in the game of snooker, her posture and facial expression revealing intense concentration and determination. The artist has deliberately obscured all the colored snooker balls, leaving only the white ball visible. This compositional choice draws the viewer's attention to the player's anticipation of her "last shot." The backdrop of "Last Shot" is a dimly lit snooker hall, creating an atmosphere of suspense and intrigue. The faint glow of overhead lights accentuates the drama of the moment, casting shadows that add depth and complexity to the scene. The absence of details surrounding the white ball and the player's narrowed focus on it contributes to the overall feeling of precision and concentration. "Last Shot" is a visual metaphor for life's critical moments—those decisive occasions when everything hinges on a single move. By obscuring the colored balls and leaving only the white ball visible, the artwork symbolizes the importance of making the right choices, even when faced with uncertainty and obscurity. The young woman's unwavering focus on her last shot encourages viewers to consider their own pivotal moments in life. It prompts reflection on the significance of each action and the consequences that follow, reminding us that sometimes, a single move can determine the course of our journey. "Last Shot" by Akinboye Akinola Peter...

Red-Tailed Hawk on the Hunt, Original Painting
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
Artist Emil Morhardt paints a swooping hawk he observed circling the sky and then landing on a tall nearby tree. The bird inspects the many gopher holes nearby. Emil captures it just as it launches a successful attack—painting the plumage with fine detailed brushwork and intense colors against a pure white background. The piece embodies the essence of this powerful raptor.

ITEM DETAILS The edges are painted Some parts of the picture glow under blue light ABOUT THE ARTWORK This piece reflects a moment of magic where the heart melts in the embrace of peace and comfort, allowing itself to believe in a fairy tale. The image of the cat adds warmth and serves as a guide to a world of dreams where every wish becomes a reality.
