This painting was inspired by the mysterious and atmospheric landscapes of the Inner Hebrides, the light, the silence and the hauntingly dramatic atmosphere that prevails, I wanted to capture the true essence of place rather than a representational image but yet have a feeling of the quiet beauty. This painting is unframed on a deep edge canvas so can be hung with or without a frame of your choice.

Elaine Fox - Artist - Painter Elaine Fox's work is available for sale online or in our gallery at Wychwood Art. I love being in nature and concentrate on using paint as a vehicle to convey the intimacy of my surroundings and the sense of belonging and affinity with landscape. The landscape drives me to capture atmosphere when I am in wild places and I use these feelings and experiences in a very loose and ephemeral way to create my own personal view of the landscape. Most of my work is completed in the studio after drawing and painting outdoors.
