Beth Dacey
Beth Dacey, "Fun in the Sun", Vintage Figurative Beach Oil Painting, 2020

2020

About the Item

Beth Dacey's "Fun in the Sun" is a 36x36 oil painting on canvas of two women in vintage swimwear sitting on a teal towel against a beach landscape. One woman is in a navy blue swimsuit and the other in a dark red one piece with white detailing. Dacey is inspired by vintage, black and white, family photographs. These photos tell stories from the past. They offer clues in context, posture, clothing and subtle gestures. As the images filter through her and make their way onto the canvas, by way of color, stroke, perspective, and composition, they come to life. They become characters in an evolving narrative. Her hope is that each painting will tell a story to you as well. About the artist: Beth Dacey has studied painting at the museum schools at the DeCordova, in Lincoln, MA and at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. She has a BA and MA from Boston College and, for a number of years, taught writing and literature there. She is a member of the SOWA Artists Guild, Copley Society of Art, and the Newburyport Art Association. Beth now lives in Newbury, Massachusetts and is grateful to be able to paint in her studio there, overlooking the Great Marsh. She still has her studio in the South End. Teller 3
By Frank Arnold
Located in Fresno, CA
"Teller 3" Oil on Canvas presents a singular form and background in varying shades of green, blue, yellow and white and eart tones. Frank Arnold is viewed as one of the foremost abstract figurative painters and sculptors of our time. He is a living master guided by a personal mission to “turn on a light in the human soul,” through his passionate creation of “Messengers” from his deeper mind connection with Carl Jung's archetypal images, the collective unconscious, and Jungian Synchronicity. These unconscious forms from his deeper mind resonate as personal messages of universal acceptance, reaching out to the viewer. Arnold has been honored as IAD Artist of the year 2018 by International Artist Day, and 2013 FAC Horizon Artist Award. He has exhibited his artwork in numerous galleries and museums and is in collections worldwide. Arnold divides his working days between oil painting in San Jose del Cabo, Baja Sur...
