About the Item
Happy Bathers - Summertime and the living is easy.
Remembrance of days past as we plow through wind, rain or snow. We're not
here for a long time, we are here for a good time. The artist reminds us of
the abundance of fun that can be had during a day at the beach.
Fine artist Carole Garland wants to share and express her absolute joy at
recreating the experience of a summer day at the shoreline. The focus is on
the laughing bather splashing her way to shore while the other beachgoers
form a circular design which forces our eye to travel around the painting.
Garland's brushwork and use of color contribute to the viewer's emotional
response.
This oil painting on a 20"x24" wood panel is wired for ease of hanging. The
natural wood sides, 1 1/2' deep, may serve as a frame.
Carole Garland is in art collections throughout the country and has been in
art exhibits all around Southern California, among them: DeFrenS Gallery,
West Lake Village; Gallery of Hermosa, Hermosa Beach; Mulberry Row
Boutique, Studio City: Betsy Lueks Art Center, Burbank; Kathryne Designs,

Carole Garland
Carole Garland, born and raised in Chicago, graduated from Knox College, Galesburg, Ill., She studied figure drawing and oil painting at the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of the Americas, Mexico City. After moving to Los Angeles she studied privately with Keith Finch, Venice. Concurrent with her art pursuits, Garland worked as a magazine editor, publicist, director's assistant, book editor, and sales executive. After a brief hiatus from painting, she looked to the outdoors for inspiration and began plein air watercolor studies with Don Blaisdell, UCLA.
