"L'irremediable - Les Fleurs des Mal", is one of the rare paintings based on Baudelaire's famous suite of poems, Les Fleur du Mal.
The nude maiden swirls across the river styx, having passed into the afterlife, while monsters and gargoyles attempt to reach her, burt she remains smiling and happy, unafraid.
This is the original painting, an original oil on panel, signed, executed c.1921, one of the rarest examples discovered by Jan Frans DeBoever. The painting resides within the original artists frame.
