👤 ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Jordi Curós Ventura (Olot, 1930 – Barcelona, 2017) was a leading figure in the renewal of modern Catalan landscape painting. Trained at the School of Arts and Crafts in Olot, he initially embraced traditional landscape but shifted to abstract informalism between 1958 and 1963. Later, he returned to a structured figurative style characterized by vibrant color fields and geometric simplification.
His work was widely exhibited in Spain and is included in numerous public and private collections. Curós is recognized for his dynamic compositions, expressive use of color, and distinctive interpretation of Mediterranean themes.
