He moved with his family to Ocean Springs, Mississippi for a brief period before moving out to California where he has lived for over 20 years. Mostly self-taught, he was forever drawing, and sketching as a kid, but the beautiful landscape, and rich artistic heritage of the Monterey peninsula's Artist colony that was the deciding influence on his later works.
