About the Item

"Neighborhood Band" Abstract Painting 60 x 72 inch by Yoram Katz ABOUT THE ARTIST: Born in Israel. Graduated from the Bazelel Art Academy in Jerusalem. Resides in Los Angeles, California, USA. When he was a student at the art academy, the senior professor of the Jerusalem University Pedagogy Division, who years earlier happened to be his middle school teacher, introduced him to his students as the kid that used to sketch and illustrate during class. Today, in his body of artwork he is still illustrating by engaging diverse visual languages to express and blend his experiences with the surroundings. Through several periods of his life, Yoram used realism or abstraction to explore real life situations, using a variety of mediums, techniques and sense of humor. Recognizing the importance of environmental issues that face the world today, Yoram devoted a great amount of his time to working on what he calls “Save Earth Recycling Series.” In this body of work, he created mixed media paintings and sculptures from items and materials that other people throw away.

Large Colorful Music Notes Israeli Modernist Oil Painting Dorit Levi Musical Art
By Dorit Levi
Located in Surfside, FL
Dorit Levi, Israeli (Born 1952). 'Golden Sounds' Oil on canvas (possible acrylic on canvas or mixed media) Hand signed bottom right and on verso. Measures 20"H x 24"W, framed 33" H x 37" W. Dorit Levi was born in Tel Aviv, Israel in 1952, her Yemenite upbringing and culture playing an important role in her art. Her talent enabled her to study at the prestigious Wizo France Art School in her native city, where she had the great fortune to learn from one of Israel's greatest artists, Edwin Salomon. The artist's personal experiences in Uganda, Africa where she lived for several years, are reflected in many of her paintings. The vast savannas translate into the warm colors of backdrops, and the flow and movement of her vibrant figures are inspired by Uganda's colorful markets and the people in embroidered garb. Dorit's works are remarkable in her use of gold leaf and the enormous attention to detail and complex composition. Each time one looks at a Dorit Levi painting new aspects and new configurations are discovered. More than anything, the collectors of her contemporary artworks remark on the feeling of joy, optimism and peace they inspire. The influences of Bolivian artist Rodo Boulanger, as well as cubist Pablo Picasso, Fernand Leger, and the cubism of Georges Braque are a background for the distinct signature of Levi's lyrical style, forged of her strong artistic vision and of a wealth of personal experiences. She shows at the prestigious Safrai Art Gallery in Jerusalem Israel and has been exhibited with Raphael Abecassis, Ben Simhon, Yosl Bergner, Naftali Bezem , Sami Briss, Amram Ebgi, Alexander Klevan, Gregory Kohelet, Yuvl Mahler, Ran Haya Graetz, Zina Rothman, Michael Rozenvein, David Sharir, Reuven Rubin, Theo Tobiasse, Yuri Tremler, Shraga Weil, Wissotzky and Avigail Yoresh...
