John Zaccheo, known for his exquisite portraits and vibrant paintings of Mediterranean seascapes as well as alluring flowering gardens and country settings is a master with the brush and at one time, a palette knife; creating color and form with each stroke that captivates the viewer.
Born in Kingston, New York, John earned degrees from Dutchess College and Syracuse University and won a gold medal for outstanding achievements in fine arts. After finishing college, John enlisted in the US Navy and completed two world tours, as well as tour duty in Vietnam. After an honorable discharge John continued his studies at the Art Student League in New York, before traveling to Europe and Japan to further his studies with renowned artists and sculptors – Arthur Lidov, John Pike, Robert Benny, David Lax, Joseph Hirsch, Leslie Ross and Lewis Krevolin.
Early in his career, John Zaccheo was the art director of Seidman & Lane Inc.., and then American Management Association (NYC). He later became head creative director of the Music Agency, Inc and Warner Brothers Music and Publications where he designed album covers for famous musicians. Ralph Love was born in Los Angeles, California in 1907. He died in 1992 in Escondido, California. For many years, Ralph Love taught as well as painted. On rainy days, his class would meet in the old Art Shack in Temecula, California, which Love opened in the mid-fifties. It was from this Art Shack that his work received national recognition.
Ralph Love was perhaps most well-known for painting the Grand Canyon and California landscapes. "Arizona Life" (magazine) featured his work on the cover and on the inside spread, showing several of his original oils. Senator Barry Goldwater owned several of Love's Grand Canyon paintings, and a letter from him stated,"...Love is the finest living American artist I know, and I could look at his work all day long."

A lovely landscape oil painting on a wooden board. This is a small but highly detailed piece. It is most certainly in the category of "photos do not do this work justice". The rolling hills lead you into the rainy clouds and it tricks the brain into thinking you can smell the wet fields. It is most wonderful to see this work in person. It brings the sense of falling through a portal or peeking through one into a different part of the world.

DOUGLAS B. SMITH Doug received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1958. He then studied for a year in the Joseph Albers program at Yale University. After working for nine years in advertising and package design, Doug joined Avon Products and served as Creative Director of Design from 1971-1996. Doug's training as a professional illustrator led him to produce realistic renditions of many everyday scenes whether they arepure landscapes, architectural elements or figures. His painting evolved into natural and plein air landscapes suitable for the New England environment where he painted for over two decades. Doug's work is housed in numerous public and private collections throughout the United States and has been exhibited at the Salmagundi Club in New York City, and the Society of Illustrators in New York City. Edward Ben Avram (born 1941) is an Indian - Israeli artist who was born in Bombay, India and immigrated to Israel as a teenager. He graduated from the Bezalel School of Art and Design in 1965 and continues to call Jerusalem his home. Most of Ben Avraham oil painting and watercolors portrays Israeli cities, particularly the old city of Jerusalem with its architecture and orientalist domes and arches, religious festivals, and Bible stories. He paints in creamy sensual tones incorporating symbols such as doves, a menorah, and Shabbat candles. With his penchant for filigreed designs and bright colors, Edouard Ben Avram betrays some influences of his Indian boyhood. But the subjects that he paints so gracefully with a touch of Oriental lyricism are scenes of Jerusalem, his home for over 20 years.

It could be argued that cave walls were the canvases for the world’s first landscape paintings, which depict and elevate natural scenery through art, but there is a richer history to consider.
The Netherlands was home to landscapes as a major theme in painting as early as the 1500s, and ink-on-silk paintings in China featured mountains and large bodies of water as far back as the third century. Greeks created vast wall paintings that depicted landscapes and grandiose garden scenes, while in the late 15th century and early 16th century, landscapes were increasingly the subject of watercolor works by the likes of Leonardo da Vinci and Fra Bartolomeo.
The popularity of religious paintings eventually declined altogether, and by the early 19th century, painters of classical landscapes took to painting out-of-doors (plein-air painting). Paintings of natural scenery were increasingly realistic but romanticized too. Into the 20th century, landscapes remained a major theme for many artists, and while the term “landscape painting” may call to mind images of lush, grassy fields and open seascapes, the genre is characterized by more variety, colors and diverse styles than you may think. Painters working in the photorealist style of landscape painting, for example, seek to create works so lifelike that you may confuse their paint for camera pixels. But if you’re shopping for art to outfit an important room, the work needs to be something with a bit of gravitas (and the right frame is important, too).
Adding a landscape painting to your home can introduce peace and serenity within the confines of your own space. (Some may think of it as an aspirational window of sorts rather than a canvas.) Abstract landscape paintings by the likes of Korean painter Seungyoon Choi or Georgia-based artist Katherine Sandoz, on the other hand, bring pops of color and movement into a room. These landscapes refuse to serve as a background.
