Description: This signed watercolour by British artist Tony Herbert presents a broad estuary scene with a panoramic view of Cardigan, seen from across the River Teifi at St Dogmaels, Wales. The composition is dominated by rippling tidal flats in the foreground, with deep shadowed areas contrasting the reflective pools of water left by the receding tide. In the distance, the hillside town of Cardigan rises in soft layers — its rooftops and clustered buildings nestled between tree-covered slopes.
Herbert captures the atmosphere with his characteristic control of light and tonal contrast, blending loose brushstrokes in the trees with finer architectural suggestions across the riverbank.
