Bill Condon (1923-1998)
Bill Condon was a native Houstonian, a practicing architect and a fine artist in his home town. He received a BA in architecture from Rice Institute in 1949, and assumed a position in the architectural firm of Broesche and Condon Associates. As an artist, Condon was ingenious, excelling as a print-maker and painter. He experimented with a wide variety of media in the conduct of his work. Condon showed regularly in the Annual Exhibition of Work by Houston Artists from 1954 to 1962. In these local exhibitions, Condon won prizes for print-making (1954-1955) and painting. His painting Rice Institute #4 was a purchase prize-winner in 1960. In addition, his works were included in several of the Texas General Exhibitions.

Bill Condon
Born in 1923, Bill Condon was a native Houstonian, a practicing architect and a fine artist in his hometown. He received a BA in architecture from Rice Institute in 1949 and assumed a position in the architectural firm Broesche and Condon Associates. As an artist, Condon was ingenious, excelling as both a printmaker and painter. Condon showed regularly in the Annual Exhibition of Work by Houston Artists from 1954–1962. Condon passed away in 1998.

Born in Oakland, CA on March 31, 1911. When Kingman was five, his family moved to Hong Kong where he grew up and attended Lingnan Grammar School. The headmaster of the school, Szetu Wei, had studied painting in Paris and recognized his budding artistic talent. For several years he trained young Kingman in both oriental and occidental approaches to painting. Returning to San Francisco in 1929, Kingman became active in the local art scene and began painting scenes of the city. His first solo show at the San Francisco Art Center in 1936 brought immediate recognition. During the 1930s he spent five years working on commissions for the Federal Public Works of Art Project. During WWII he created maps and charts for the O.S.S. After the war Kingman settled in NYC and taught at Columbia University. His paintings were used as backdrops for the movie "Flower Drum Song...
