About the Item
The landscape was painted from life in Venice in January. The buildings of the Miserecórdia Abbey are depicted. We see typical Venetian colors, consisting of emerald shades of the Adriatic sea water, and terracotta tones of ancient buildings, the plaster of which, half-crumbled, has absorbed the dampness of the sea air. Seagulls fly in the sky. Boats are tied to piles sticking out of the water. Between the ripples of the water and the buildings of the abbey, we see a bridge over a canal stretching into the distance. On the wall of the cathedral on the right is a burning lantern, the light of which is reflected in the water. The work is painted in one layer in the Alla prima style.

Dmitry graduated from the Moscow Secondary Art School at the Surikov Institute and the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
