About the Item
The work is in an unusual vertical format for a landscape. Fallen snow is depicted. A rare phenomenon for Europe. A provincial town in Bavaria on the banks of the Main, to which the viewer stands with his back. Most of the composition is occupied by snow covering the ground, lined and crossed by tire tracks. One of the cars is parked on the left side. On the right we see a typical Bavarian beer hall with a roof thickly covered with snow. Smoke is coming out of the chimney. In front is a building from the early 20th century. In the frosty winter air, trees stand as if dissolving in it. The overall coloring of the painting is silvery.
