George Petrie was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1790. He studied art at the Dublin Society Schools, where he excelled as a student, particularly in landscape painting. His early works primarily consisted of landscape paintings, which showcased his fascination with the natural beauty of Ireland’s scenery.
